After joining North Suffolk Cardiology in 2008, Dr. Weinstein became the first community-based interventional cardiologist in Suffolk County to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). TAVR is an entirely catheter-based procedure where a diseased aortic valve of the heart is replaced without the need for open-heart surgery. Dr. Weinstein is an integral part of the team of cardiologists and cardiac surgeons performing the procedure at Stony Brook University Hospital. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology. He performs the full spectrum of invasive cardiac and peripheral arterial diagnostic testing, as well as coronary and peripheral cardiovascular interventions.
